At Princeton Beds, our journey began over two decades ago in the timber industry supplying up to 700 high-quality bed bases and timber sets daily to South Africa’s leading bedding brands. On the side, we crafted a small number of premium mattresses for referred customers, including hotels and guest houses. Slowly but surely, the mattress side of our business grew and became the heart of it.

As the founder, I spent nearly 20 years commuting 70km every day from Pretoria to Johannesburg. But during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, I made a decision: it was time to bring the business home.

On 1 August 2020, we officially opened the Princeton Factory Shop in Silverton, Pretoria a real, working factory in the back, and a no-frills wholesale showroom in the front. No middlemen, no markups just factory-direct prices for walk-in customers.

With 21 years of industry experience, we’re proud to offer expert craftsmanship, honest pricing, and custom-made comfort. Can’t find the perfect mattress? We’ll build it for you made to your specs, right here in our factory. Because at Princeton, we are the factory.
